Do carpets need to be cleaned between tenants?
There is no single rule for every rental, so check your lease. Most landlords still clean carpet between tenants, because it is the easiest way to show the unit at its best, lift the last tenant's stains and pet odor, and see what damage needs repair. When should a landlord schedule the cleaning?
Right after the last tenant moves out and before the next showing. Carpet is easiest to clean when the rooms are empty. Tell Jan your move-out and move-in dates when you call so he can plan around them.
What about pet damage from the last tenant?

Can carpet, tile and repairs be done in one visit?
Yes. List everything when you ask for the estimate, such as carpet, tile and grout, and any repair spots, and Jan will plan it as one job.
Do you clean apartments?
Ask first. Jan's equipment needs a place to park and unload close to the unit, which is why houses are usually simpler. One apartment customer wrote that Jan came back a second time because no unloading spot was open the first time.
Should tenants clean carpet before moving out?
Check the lease. Some require a professional cleaning at move-out and some do not. Either way, photos of the carpet at move-in and move-out help settle questions about wear and stains later.
